Just Like That, I am Back

If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next.  Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place.  Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an...

One More Day and JoAnn's Taunts Me

I am so totally floored that we have sixty-one members of the Stashbusting September Blogging contest. I am still working on getting more prizes, but hey isn't busting some stash a prize in and of itself.

If you have not had a chance to sign up please do so

We need you and all of your mad talent.

On a side not am I the only one that feels like Joanne's is taunting and tempting me. I mean yesterday I got the HUGE packet of coupons for coupon commotion later on this month and darn it if they do not have a 10 or 15% off your purchase (even sale items) this week.

Funny (possibly sad) story. I did go into JoAnn's yesterday. I had to return some things that I bought a while ago and knew I would not use any time soon (batting, a cake decorating kit, and some Olfa Rotary cutting blades). I had the receipt, I had the will power (I thought I did at least), but I did NOT trust myself. We were on the way to the house that we are getting ready for the refugees so the kids were at the sitter. I told my husband he was going in with me to JoAnn's to make the return. He looked at me like I was crazy, until I told him it was to make sure that I didn't shop and he ran in there with me like it was the happiest day of his life.

Needless to say I did not buy anything :).

I think it's funny how many of us are using our husbands to hold us accountable. Most of us said something along the lines of "I told my husband about it, so now there's no turning back." LOL.

And, yes, JoAnn's must have heard about our little blog challenge because they are pulling out ALL of the stops with the flyers and coupons this month. God help us all, ladies!

I'm sure the only thing that saved me from a crafty splurge yesterday was that I had only three minutes before the shop closed. I had to chose between a sprint to the craft section or a much needed 'tinkle' - I figured I had more stash than dignity and needed to save as much as I could by not wetting myself!

Here's to whatever it takes to keep us away from the pretty objects :)

*ROFL* That's the only time you'll get a man to enjoy the craft store, isn't it? I feel like I have to have blinders on to drive past any of my favorite haunts.

Ya know the best way to get the urge to craft shop out of your system without the commitment & shame of making an actual purchase? Overstock.com! I shop in there, rack up about $5-6,000 on everything I want, then just dump the cart. Satisfies my need to get something crafty without having to post that button & put my nose in the corner! *LOL*

♥hugs♥

I am off to overstock right now to fake shop! See you all soon!
Yeah for you and your willpower. I haven't given into temptation...yet. I told my husband to toss the JoAnn's flyer from the paper today...didn't even dare look at it!
Lol thats too funny! My hubby would have done that exact same thing!
Friday I went to Michaels with my mom. As always, they has super cool things on clearance. I found something for $2.00 and I totally wanted it.I held it for a long time all through the store. In the end I put it back. The reason:I really wanted to be true to this stashbusting, plus I have no real need for it,it was just cool.

You are very strong! Keep it up! That's kind of why I wasn't able to sign up for your stashbusting challenge because as much as I've been trying to use up my existing fabric lately, I'm not able to resist when I see awesome skull fabric on sale at Jo-Ann for $1.50-$2.50/yard. Plus a 10% off coupon?! That price can't be beat and I don't want to feel guilty for buying more fabric because it's breaking the rules of the challenge. Yes, I know that means I'm horribly weak. Kudos to all of you girls who did sign up for it and are sticking with it!

I hit Joann's this week, but not for me...it was Savannah's 16th birthday, and that's what she asked for! A craft shopping spree! That just made my mommy heart skip a beat.

Sourkraut I am so glad I have some beautiful skull and cross bone fabric in my stash, otherwise the damage would be done.
